Mission

Cloudgazers Community Arts & Education advances community wellbeing in Los Angeles through accessible creative education, youth development, and community-based wellbeing programs. We provide hands-on arts learning—including textiles, media arts, photography and video—structured youth sports and leadership programming, and educational peer-support circles for parents and adults that build emotional skills, resilience, and connection, with scholarships and low-cost access for under-resourced participants.

Name

cloudgazers first came to us as the German word “Wolkenkieken” pronounced [ˈvɔl.kənˌkiː.kən] – a dialect expression meaning watching clouds or “cloudgazing”.

The more we contemplated on the deeper meaning of these words, the more meaning we found. And we are still exploring this together with our growing community of friends and like-minded people.
